We adopted the Japanese traditional materials in its interior. The material is called ‘HANCHIKU’ in Japanese. That is one of the technical methods for a plasterer. Originally the method was from China in ancient times. For making walls ancient people poured smooth muds into the wooden frame up to certain level of height and then when it becomes solid, poured next smooth muds. By repeating this works, walls would be completed, and make beautiful rhythms on the surface. Although recent way is more simplified, the rhythms on the surface would still remain. Recent way refer to the another sheet.
Another feature is the exterior wall which made by one sheet of thin steel on the site. The building’s roof and wall is connected and got into one solid as it can be seen in the picture.
The materials used in the building sound modern, however the way to use, its color, and its atmosphere in the whole. Our design works took over the Japanese tradition on this building, so that we Japanese do not forget the primarily beauty of Japan.
